Vision- To
be the association of choice for human services organizations which
provide services to persons in need, with a particular focus on the
elderly.
Mission-
The Indiana Association of Homes and Services for the Aging assists
members to provide the highest quality of life for those they serve.
The Indiana Association of Homes and
Services for the Aging (IAHSA) is an association representing
not-for-profit services and facilities for the elderly. IAHSA members
are non-profit organizations, providing high quality health care,
services and housing for over 25,000 seniors throughout Indiana. IAHSA
members are sponsored by or affiliated with religious, fraternal,
governmental, and community organizations.
Mission of
Service: IAHSA members are driven by a mission of service
within their communities. The goal of IAHSA is to promote and protect
the welfare and well-being of the elderly served by our members and to
help achieve high standards of care and service by our members. As a
full service association, IAHSA provides members with education, group
services, up-to-date information, networking, and leadership
development, as well as prompt, efficient service for the professional
staff.
Serving the
Continuum: IAHSA members represent the continuum of long term
care, services and housing for seniors in Indiana. IAHSA
membership is comprised of four major components:
Continuing Care
Retirement Communities (CCRCs) - where a range of living
options are available on one campus setting from independent living to
skilled nursing care;
Senior housing -
IAHSA represents the not-for-profit senior housing in Indiana,
particularly housing serving low-income seniors.
Nursing
facilities - IAHSA members provide the highest quality
nursing home care, many offering specialized programs for persons with
Alzheimer's and other cognitive impairments and other special needs
groups.
Hospital -based
skilled nursing units provide highly skilled restorative and
rehabilitative care as a transition from acute hospital care to the home
and other less intensive levels of care.
In addition, many IAHSA members
provide a range of community-based services, such as home health, adult
day care, and congregate and home-delivered meals. IAHSA members focus
on the total needs of the individual and are dedicated to the
development of a seamless and integrated system of facilities and
services for Hoosier seniors.
