Dear Friend,
Who Decides, We All Do. Our theme for 2010 poses an ethical, philosophical, practical and thought-provoking question. It is intended to stimulate a rich dialogue as we consider the varying needs of seniors (and other populations) and the models of service and care delivery that will be required to serve them. It answers the question with the affirmation that it is a joint decision between providers, staff, and consumers and their families – we are all in this together.
Who Decides? is more than a question. It is a shift in mind set – a recognition that the current landscape is changing, and as it changes, the role of everyone involved – from consumers to family members to direct care workers to CEOs and boards – is evolving. Care and service decisions require everyone involved (from the boardroom to the bedside) to be empowered and promote individual choice in an effort to enhance quality of life—and in essence truly be person-centered.
We All Do clearly states the need for us to continue to work together in addressing this question, and this conference is designed to provide both thought-provoking sessions rich with content that you can take back to your organization and opportunities to network with your peers to share your successes and challenges.
Won’t you join us in this journey of discovery together?
Regards,
Jim Leich, President/CEO
Indiana Association of Homes and Services for the Aging

Explanation of Conference Rates
The Samaritan Rate is for IAHSA members who are also members of the Samaritan Alliance. If you are unsure if your facility is a member, please call the
IAHSA office at 317-733-2380.
The Facility Rate is for IAHSA, INALA and HOPE members from one facility in one location. Members may choose the special facility rate to register 1-7 individuals for the full conference. When you register more than 7 people, the rate will be $149 for each additional person over the 7th person. This special price does not apply to persons signing up for one day or individual registration. The Individual Rate is for one person from one facility and includes the daily rate or a full conference rate.
Student Rates are available for individuals enrolled in a health facilities administration course. Retired Administrator Rates are also available for former IAHSA Administrators who served the long term care community for at least 15 years and are currently not employed. Please call the IAHSA office for these special rates:
317-733-2380.
Continuing Education Credits
The Professional Licensing Agency has approved 10 continuing education credits for Health Facility Administrators for attendance at all sessions (Monday includes 5.25 depending on your session choices, and Tuesday includes 4.75). Approval has also been requested from the Certifying Board of Dietary Managers, and the American Dietetic Association for Registered Dietitians. The Indiana Social Worker, Marriage and Family Therapist and Mental Health Counselors Board have approved this organization to provide Category 1 Continuing Education for LSWs. However, licensees must judge the program's relevance to their professional practice.
Hotel Reservations
Participants are responsible for making their own hotel reservations at the Hyatt Regency Indianapolis. All Hotel reservations must be made by FEBRUARY 25, 2010 at the Hyatt Regency Indianapolis, One South Capitol Avenue, Indianapolis, Indiana, USA 46204. The hotel is holding the "IAHSA block" at the discounted rate of $119 plus tax per night single or double occupancy. Please call (800) 233-1234 to make your reservation. Please reserve early, last year we sold out! Staying at the IAHSA Host Hotel offers great networking opportunities to meet your colleagues and make new friends and helps IAHSA reduce the overall costs associated with producing the conference.

To guarantee that your registration reaches IAHSA by the deadline of March 12, 2010, please fax a copy of your completed registration form along with all
participants' names, session numbers, and any special meal requests to 317-733-2385.
We will hold registration space once we recieve the fax. Mail the original along with payment when your corporate check becomes available. IAHSA also offers
on-line registration at www.regonline.com/iahsa. All preregistered attendees will recieve a confirmation letter. If you do not receive a confirmation, do not
assume that you are preregistered.

registration desk at the conference.
Conference Special Events
This year the Spring Conference will feature special events which require pre-registration. You must pre-register for the following events: Networking Reception and the Executive Roundtable Breakfast. There is an additional fee to attend the Executive Roundtable Breakfast, but all other conference events are included in the price for all facility members. Exhibitors and Associate Members will be required to pay a fee for both events.
Cancellations
Cancellations received prior to March 12, 2010 will be refunded. Due to the need for reproducing handouts and having accurate meal counts, we will be enforcing a deadline to register. That date is Friday, March 12, 2010. Substitutions are always welcomed. No shows and cancellations after March 12th will be billed.
Exhibitors
All exhibit personnel must register for the conference if attending any of the sessions. Two trade show meal tickets are included in the exhibitor's fee. If you wish to purchase additional tickets, please contact the IAHSA office at 317-733-2380.
Special Needs & Conference Attire
Persons requiring special assistance or specific menus are encouraged to note their needs on the registration form or attach a letter providing the details. We encourage casual attire for the entire conference. Don’t be caught unprepared. Everyone responds differently to climate-controlled environments and the convention center does its best to provide a comfortable climate for our event. However, sometimes it is warmer or cooler than you prefer. We hope that you will take this into consideration when preparing for this conference.
Session Handouts
Instead of the large spiral bound notebook that all attendees have received in the past, we combined all the available handouts on a CD as well as posting them on the web. We invite all participants to download handouts prior to the conference. There will be no handouts available on-site. IAHSA will send instructions on how to download the handouts with your confirmation collateral.
