About LeadingAge Indiana

Vision
It is LeadingAge Indiana's vision to be the association of choice for human services organizations which provide services to persons in need, with a particular focus on the elderly.

Mission
LeadingAge Indiana assists members to provide the highest quality of life for those they serve.

LeadingAge Indiana is an association representing not-for-profit services and facilities for the elderly. Members are non-profit organizations, providing high quality health care, services and housing for over 25,000 seniors throughout Indiana. Our members are sponsored by or affiliated with religious, fraternal, governmental, and community organizations.

Mission of Service:
LeadingAge Indiana members are driven by a mission of service within their communities. Our goal is to promote and protect the welfare and well-being of the elderly served by our members and to help achieve high standards of care and service by our members. As a full service association, we provide members with education, group services, up-to-date information, networking, and leadership development, as well as prompt, efficient service for the professional staff.

Serving the Continuum:
LeadingAge Indiana members represent the continuum of long term care, services and housing for seniors in Indiana. Membership is comprised of four major components:

Continuing Care Retirement Communities (CCRCs) - where a range of living options are available on one campus setting from independent living to skilled nursing care;

Senior housing - we represents the not-for-profit senior housing in Indiana, particularly housing serving low-income seniors.

Nursing facilities - we members provide the highest quality nursing home care, many offering specialized programs for persons with Alzheimer's and other cognitive impairments and other special needs groups.

Hospital - based skilled nursing units provide highly skilled restorative and rehabilitative care as a transition from acute hospital care to the home and other less intensive levels of care.

In addition, many members provide a range of community-based services, such as home health, adult day care, and congregate and home-delivered meals. Our members focus on the total needs of the individual and are dedicated to the development of a seamless and integrated system of facilities and services for Hoosier seniors.

Our national partner, LeadingAge, is an association of 6,000 not for profit organizations dedicated to expanding the world of possibilities for aging. Together, we advance policies, promote practices and conduct research that supports, enables and empowers people to live fully as they age.
